First Botany Biotin Shampoo Review

If you have noticed your hair is getting thinner or falling out, you are probably on the hunt for ways to grow your hair back, fast.

The health and beauty industries are full of hair products claiming to restore your hair health and pump up the density.

The problem is, it is easy to claim they can help grow back your hair, but how do you KNOW they really work?

It all comes down to researching the products, their ingredients, and their proven track history of effectiveness. In our search for quality hair growth shampoos, we came across First Botany Biotin Shampoo.

First Botany Biotin Shampoo claims to block DHT, which is a pesky menace that causes hair loss.

We wanted to put their claims to the test, so we whipped up this First Botany Biotin Shampoo review full of research, product break downs, and an honest look at its effectiveness. Because, hey, you do not want to sink another dollar into empty promises, right?

What Causes Hair Loss?

There are a lot of potential causes of hair loss. Some of the leading causes of hair loss are:

  • DHT
  • Hormones
  • Pregnancy
  • Stress
  • Over-styling
  • Age
  • Genetics

Hair loss DHT blocking shampoo works great to focus on the outside aspects of growing back your hair. Having a healthy scalp, reducing breakage, and blocking DHT have a significant impact on future hair growth.

Hair loss shampoo also works to restore your hair from damage. If you have a thing for bleach or heat styling, you are damaging your hair and increasing the likelihood of hair loss.

*If you think you might be losing your hair due to a health reason, we always recommend checking with your health care provider, as that might require some additional medical treatment.

Attributes:

Key Ingredients: Argan oil, B-vitamins, saw palmetto, nettle extract, and fo-ti

What’s Inside This Biotin Shampoo by First Botany?

First Botany Biotin Shampoo has 14 DHT blockers in its formula, but the main ingredients we are focusing on are as follows: Argan oil, B-vitamins, saw palmetto, biotin, nettle extract, and fo-ti. These are the key ingredients that will help with your results the most substantially.

  • Argan oil works to improve your scalp health by preventing breakage and hair loss (R1).
  • B-vitamins help strengthens keratin and increases circulation, which helps with hair growth.
  • Saw palmetto helps block DHT, which is a large contributor to hair loss (R2).
  • Biotin is a popular ingredient for most hair loss products. It helps strengthen your existing hair and improve thickness and shine (R3).
  • Nettle extract helps reduce inflammation and promotes a healthy scalp.
  • Fo-ti helps fight against hair loss and is a well know age-defying herb (R4).

Is First Botany Biotin Shampoo Worth The Cost?

Yes!

Considering you get both a shampoo and a conditioner for $28.95, we consider that a surprisingly good deal.

It will typically take a few months to really start seeing results, so this is not too costly of an investment that you could not keep up.

They have great ingredients, cruelty-free practices, and a fair price. This is also a sulfate-free formula, and natural products tend to cost more, so this is a steal.

Is First Botany Biotin Shampoo & Conditioner Vegan?

We cannot say for sure, while the company is cruelty-free, we do not know where the ingredients are sourced to offer a fair answer.

They do not add collagen, which is typically an animal-based product, so that is a good sign (but not a guarantee).

Does This Biotin Shampoo by First Botany Have The Right Ingredients?

We are impressed with the number of ingredients First Botany added to their formula. With 14 ingredients working to strengthen and grow your hair, we like those odds.

We also love that they have not added any harmful sulfates or parabens. Sulfates and parabens are chemicals we never want to see in beauty products as they certainly do not do good things to your hair.

With the added DHT blockers and smell good herbs, we think the ingredient list is one we can stand behind.

Can I Use the First Botany Biotin Shampoo On Its Own?

While this shampoo and conditioner set will work great to nourish your scalp and hair from the outside, you also need to work on the inside too.

We always recommend getting a decent hair growth vitamin, increasing whole foods in your diet, and cutting back on the harmful chemicals and heat styling. Some great hair health foods are avocados, eggs, fatty fish, legumes, beans, red meat, and greens.

If you really want to increase your results, you can try out LLLT as a great addition to your hair loss shampoo. LLLT is also known as low-level laser therapy and uses light treatment to encourage hair growth, repair old cells, and discourage DHT.

Low-level laser therapy is a clinically researched method to safely restore your hair through non-invasive techniques. Low-level laser therapy is also a great alternative to costly surgeries and harmful medications.

We also encourage you to improve your current hair’s health by reducing harmful chemicals and styling.

If you use a lot of heat and regularly get your hair colored, you could be causing your hair to fall out, weaken, and thin. Work with your stylist to reduce the need for coloring or to increase the time between appointments.

What We Love About This Shampoo

Here is the quick summary of why we love First Botany Biotin Shampoo:

  • It’s a natural product.
  • It’s proven to be effective.
  • It has great ingredients.
  • It smells really great!
  • They are a cruelty-free brand.
  • They don’t add any harmful chemicals.
  • The price is just right!

What We Don’t Love

Do we really have to put something here?

If we really had to pick, we would like to see if this product has third-party testing and the source of their ingredients.

Other than that, there is not much to hate, and we really feel this is a quality product for a fair price.

However, if you are vegan or worry about where and how ingredients are sourced, this might not be the right option for you.

Would We Recommend This Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner?

A big YES to this question.

We love the value of getting two products for under thirty dollars AND they even made this cruelty-free.

First Botany also kicked the harsh chemical to the curb, so you can feel good about using their products.

The price, ingredients, and overall value is hard not to recommend. They also have well-documented customer photos, showing the effectiveness of First Botany Biotin Shampoo.

The smell is not too overpowering, as you often see with natural products. Both bottles come in the 16 oz size, which is great for overall value.

As we researched this product, we came across many positive reviews with photos included and loved to see the positive results. As with any hair growth product, it typically takes a few months to see a difference, so just be patient and trust in the process.

  1. I’m on my second set of First Botany shampoo and conditioner. I grow my hair long, and I’m seeing groth of atleast 4 inches already. I use it every day,and comb it thru my hair with each application. The product is great. I have very fine hair which breaks very easily. I have also noticed my hair is gaining strength and doesn’t break quite as easily anymore. Thank you First Botany.
