Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo Review

Have you started noticing more and more hair coming out in the shower?

Or maybe you are hiding bald spots under your hats. While hair loss is stressful, you don’t have to suffer from hair loss forever. Technology is expanding rapidly, and there are SO MANY options out there available to you. While it’s great to have options, having too many can be stressful. So, we have your back with an in-depth and honest review covering a popular hair growth brand, Keranique.

Before we hop into our Keranique scalp stimulating shampoo review, you probably want to know a little more about why you should even use hair loss shampoo.

The short answer is hair loss shampoo works to repair and strengthen your hair from the outside. It also improves scalp health, and some brands even block the pesky DHT hormone that shrinks your hair follicles and causes your hair to fall out. Hair loss shampoo and conditioners help repair your existing hair, which is always important to support new hair growth. Typically, when you experience hair loss, you need to improve your scalp health to create a stable hair growth environment.

Quick Product Breakdown of Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo

The formula is gentle and designed for fine or damaged hair. Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo is also intended to protect against cuticle damage and removes pesky build-up. This formula focuses mainly on scalp health but does not add in DHT blockers.

What’s Inside the Bottle?

Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo has several ingredients, but the most important are the amino acids, ginseng, and keratin.

Amino Acids/ Keratin Blend

Amino acids help produce keratin, which makes up 90% of your hair, skin, and nails structure (R1). Amino acids also help ensure stable blood circulation to your scalp (which promotes healthy hair cells). IN other words, you need amino acids and keratin to grow healthy hair.

Ginseng

Ginseng helps prevent hair loss by stimulating the scalp and protects your follicle cells from apoptosis (R2). Apoptosis is the death of cells, so it’s critical to protect your hair cells and regenerate them.

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil can help increase circulation to the scalp and helps prevent hair loss (R3). It also adds tingling to your scalp and a delightful aroma that is refreshing for you and your scalp.

Is Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo Worth the Cost?

$20 is pretty affordable and comparable to other hair loss shampoos on the market.

Still, the bottle is only 8 oz, which comes in at $2.50 per ounce. This also does not include a conditioner, so you would have to buy that separately. They do have three key ingredients that will improve your hair, and they ditch harmful chemicals. However, we would like to see more ingredients in their formula that help nurture your existing hair.

Overall it’s a fairly basic formula with a mid-range price.

Is Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo Natural?

Yes, this is a chemical-free brand that doesn’t add any paraben’s, sulfates, or dyes.

While we don’t know where they sourced their ingredients from, we do know the avoid harsh chemicals, so that’s positive.

Does This Keranique Stimulating Shampoo Have the Right Ingredients?

It has some positive ingredients that should help restore some hair growth, but in all honesty, it’s not nearly as impressive as other brands we have reviewed. They could have done a lot more for this formula, and while it does use ingredients proven to help with scalp health, we do feel the formula is lacking. We would like to see some DHT blockers, nourishing oils, and some other key ingredients to improve this formula and its effectiveness.

Would We Recommend This Keranique Shampoo to You?

Remember that honesty we promised you at the beginning?

Well, here it is, we are on the fence with this one. It is an OK formula for a reasonable price, but it didn’t exactly blow us away. You could find better products out there for the same price. We also found several negative reviews, and we just can’t give our seal of approval on this one.

We hate to give a negative review, but this product just fell short of expectations.

What We Love About Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo

We love that Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo ditches harmful chemicals and adds amino acids to their formula. We also appreciate the lower cost and that they focus so heavily on scalp health. Many have loss shampoos concentrate on your current hair, but don’t consider the importance of scalp cleansing.

What We Don’t Love

Look, Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo is relatively basic, and for the smaller bottle, we wouldn’t particularly say it’s worth the price.

You would also need to purchase a conditioner as well, so this could add up fast. It’s not that we think this is a flawed formula, we know you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere.

Our overall recommendation is that Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo has some benefits. Still, it wouldn’t be our top pick for hair growth shampoo. While it does focus more on scalp health (which we love), it just doesn’t have the ingredient profile we would like to see.

You also only get an 8 oz bottle for the price, so this is not a great deal. We do think that you could find a better product that will help you achieve your hair goals faster.

What Are Some Other Alternatives to Grow Back Your Hair?

If you are an overachiever like us, you probably know that hair health works from the inside out. So we always recommend you add other hair growth alternatives to your hair growth regimen. Here are some other options you can add to increase hair growth and your overall health as well;

  • Hair growth vitamins work to address any nutritional deficiencies and pump your body with healthy vitamins that help carry oxygen and nutrients to your scalp and hair cells.
  • LLLT or low-level laser therapy helps regenerate old cells and grow back your hair using laser light. This alternative has been clinically researched.
  • Eating the right foods for hair loss like avocados, eggs, fatty fish, berries, and legumes can help your body function optimally and increase hair growth.
  • Moving your body every day helps improve circulation and blood flow to your scalp.
  • Cutting back on heat-styling and coloring your hair can prevent thinning and hair loss.

Hair loss takes more than just a product. It also requires you to address the cause of your hair loss too. Common causes of hair loss are stress, hormones, genetics, and aging. While we don’t have the fountain of youth just yet, you can reduce your stress levels and have a doctor check your hormones to make sure you are healthy. Regardless of the reason, know that it takes a few months to grow your hair on average, so don’t get discouraged.
