Introduction to Our Nutrafol Hair Growth Supplements Review
Are you losing your hair and searching for natural ways to restore it to its original glory?
There are just so many options out there, and frankly, it can be confusing.
While avoiding surgery and potentially dangerous medications is great, you also want to find something that is truly effective and doesn’t waste your money.
This hair growth supplement has been taking the internet by storm and even winning the Allures 2018 Best of Beauty Breakthrough Award.
I wanted to take a moment and break down this supplement to see if it’s worth the hype and more importantly worth your money.
Natural Hair Growth
I am all about working with your body and not against it.
That’s why natural hair growth is so significant.
When you take the time to heal your body holistically, you are improving your hair health and taking care of the rest of your body.
Nutrafol falls under the category of natural hair growth because it uses vitamins and herbs to help you grow back your hair.
Nutrafol also does so without all of the scary side effects medications can cause.
However, any hair vitamin can claim to be good for your body – but there are some things you need to look out for.
For one, you should always pay attention to where the ingredients are sourced from and their quality.
For your body to properly absorb vitamins, it needs the right doses and preferably higher-quality ingredients. You also want to be aware of any clinical evidence you can find, dual-purpose ingredients that can help improve overall health, and support from industry experts.
Safety and quality should always lead the way for any supplement you add to your hair growth regimen.
One thing I can tell you I liked right away is that they have vitamins for both men and women.
We have different needs, and I love that Nutrafol acknowledges that. Let’s take a quick look at the labels for each supplement Nutrafol offers.
Nutrafol for Women’s Hair Loss
Right away, I can tell you that I love how Nutrafol added stress support in their supplements.
Stress is a huge contributor to not only hair loss but also several other health issues. Stress can cause weight gain, hormone imbalances, heart problems, and digestive issues.
Nutrafol added Ashwagandha and B-vitamins, which support stress management, cortisol levels, and energy metabolism.
As I get older, I can also admit that I have experienced more weight gain and a harder time losing weight. Because of that, I had to get a little stricter on eating and workouts.
While this is healthy to an extent, it adds stress to the body and can cause me to lose out on important nutrition.
This is another reason I like Nutrafol because it addresses those deficiencies by adding in things like;
- Vitamin A
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin D
- Amino Acids
- Japanese Knotweed
The basic vitamins added to this supplement like vitamins A, C, and D are great for overall health and support any deficiencies that could take away from your hair growth goals.
I also love that they added amino acids.
Amino acids are the building blocks for protein.
They help grow your hair, repair your muscles, and help prevent the hardening of your arteries (R1). The added amino acids in Nutrafol for women are great for your hair and full-body wellness.
Nutrafol also uses Japanese Knotweed, which is an excellent source of resveratrol.
Resveratrol helps fight free-radical damage to your body. This helps reduce aging, fights environmental stress, and is overall great for your health.
Lastly, I would like to mention that Nutrafol has added marine collagen, which is wonderful for supporting healthy hair, skin, and nails.
However, it is also worth mentioning that marine collagen can support a healthy weight, reduce inflammation, and has antibacterial effects (R3).
As I mentioned previously, I am impressed that Nutrafol went above and beyond to source ingredients that will make your hair grow and support your overall health and wellness.
Nutrafol for Men Review
The men’s vitamin is very similar to the women’s formula.
It has all the same great vitamins like selenium, vitamin A, D, E, and collagen. However, the men’s formula also adds other critical ingredients like Saw Palmetto and curcumin.
Saw Palmetto is excellent for supporting prostate health and blocking the DHT hormone that is linked to hair loss (R4).
A recent study found that saw palmetto improved hair growth by up to 60% of the men involved in the study (R4). Those are promising results, and you have to love the added benefit of improving prostate health as well.
Curcumin is another excellent addition to the men’s vitamin. Curcumin helps with high cholesterol, helps reduce inflammation, and can even help reduce depression symptoms (R5).
As I had mentioned previously, stress has a huge impact on our bodies, so I love that the men’s supplement also addresses this by keeping Ashwagandha and b-vitamins in it’s formula.
Nutrafol Clinical Testing & Results
Supplements can be scary when the FDA does not regulate them.
That is why I always recommend you do some research and find supporting evidence behind everything you put in your body.
With so much freedom in an unregulated market, I love it when companies are willing to put their supplements to the test.
Nutrafol has done just that and published their clinical testing and findings online (R6).
This information was easy to find, and their clinical test showed that 80.8% of participants saw an overall improvement in hair growth.
76.9% of participants saw a significant amount of new hair growth, and 80.8% of participants saw improvement in the thickness of their hair.
These are excellent results, and again, I appreciate when companies stand by their products, and as they say, the proof is in the pudding (or the clinical outcomes).
Is Nutrafol Approved by Experts
Clinical trials and studies are great for any supplement.
Still, I wanted to take it one step further and see if any medical professionals advocate for Nutrafol.
After some initial research, I found that Nutrafol offers 1-on-1 consultations with their naturopathic doctors, which is unique to the industry.
However, you do need to enroll in their GrowthPlan subscription to get this feature.
I love that health professionals address not just nutritional needs but also an overall holistic approach to hair growth management.
And this is also promising about Nutrafol as a company.
This is a really unique model that I haven’t seen frequently offered by other supplement companies.
Whole Body Wellness
Overall, Nutrafol gets my seal of approval.
They address stress, hormones, dieting, and other health issues, while also supporting your hair growth goals.
Health is never one-sided, and it’s essential to keep your body running optimally.
When we experience an isolated issue like hair loss, we often focus entirely on that and don’t always think about the other health issues we might have.
The ingredients are promising, the studies support its results, and I don’t have much to say against Nutrafol.
In my research, I also found a third-party test for the purity of ingredients and safety.
They also focus on sourcing their ingredients from sustainable farmers. That’s not only good for you, but it’s great for the environment.
I will say that Nutrafol is a little more expensive than your typical $30 hair supplement.
Nutrafol costs $88, but I can say that it seems worth the cost.
While Nutrafol will work well on its own, there are some other ways you can improve your results and do so naturally.
I always suggest looking into LLLT and also improving your hair care regimen.
Natural Alternatives to Enhance Your Nutrafol Use
LLLT or low-level laser therapy is another natural hair growth therapy worth mentioning.
There are several laser caps on the market that use this technology.
However, if you want one comparable to Nutrafol in quality, I would suggest Illumiflow.
Illumiflow uses medical-grade lasers and also puts its products to the test. Illumifow uses light therapy to stimulate your scalp, reduce inflammation, and regenerate old damaged cells.
This is a natural way to grow your hair without a significant time commitment. This therapy would work great with Nutrafol. I also recommend you take a look at the shampoos and conditioners you are using.
Try to avoid any ingredients like;
- Synthetic colors or additives
- Sodium Sulfate
- TEA (Triethanolamine)
Try to find more natural alternatives that won’t harm your health or your hair. Some great products to check out are: Sebclaire shampoo, Prose, and Alaffia.
Overall, if you combine Nutrafol with healthy hair practices and natural therapies like LLLT, you will be well on your way to restoring your hair to its former glory (or better).
